Animation Still - Increased flow due to the microbials cleaning of the pipes

This animation was created to illustrate the increased flow efficiency of the pumping system after treatment using BioTech's microbes.  It was created based off an existing animation that had been created using PowerPoint.  To create the art for the project, I used a combination of 3D models and digital illustration using Photoshop.  A project like this usually takes about 2-3 weeks to complete, depending on the amount of time it takes to gather the resources and information required. However, I do try to accommodate special circumstances and work with a compressed timeframe when needed.

Combining 3D Models and Illustrations into Video

The pump jack and tanks were created using the 3D modeling software 3D Studio Max.  The rock layers and terrain were created in 2D in Photoshop and integrated with the 3D objects for the final look.  All the illustrated layers were then imported into After Effects, where the final animation was completed.  Text and text boxes were also created in after effect to retail clear, scalable and easily editable text.

The completed animation can now be used in the existing PowerPoint presentation, played on a loop at trade shows, be distributed through DVD mailers, and streamed live from their web site.  Other possibilities for future expansion of the project could be something like adding narration, or creating a series of animations that can be accessed using a custom branded flash based user interface.
