![]() The 3D Desk This is a desk I am currently in the process of designing. I am trying to create something to hold all of my computer equipment. Standard desks just aren't designed to handle 4 screens, an over sized computer tower, and a drawing tablet. I have created the model and room to scale to test various designs and also be able to get a sense of space that it is hard to get just doing sketches. One decision this will help me make, is whether or not to tear out the closet door frame for that extra foot of space. 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering The image shown is the direct product of a 3D Studio Max rendering. Nothing was photoshopped in the picture. I tried to simulate the amount of light and shadow that I would have with the current lighting situation as well. the woodwork and walls have been textured appropriately, but I made the floor shiny for a little nicer look. Using a scale model really helps you be able to plan out every possible detail and forsee any issues that might come up. Like, oh, is that going to fit through the door? This is really just a personal project but I felt like it was a good one to demonstrate some of these points. And who knows, maybe someday you will be able to see the finished product while we are planning out your next 3D model. Version 2 - The New Design
